LyondellBasell once again included in the “Fortune” list

LyondellBasell was again included in the ranking of the US business magazine Fortune of the “World’s Most Admired Companies”. It is the third time in a row that LyondellBasell has received an award and this year it ranks fifth among chemical companies worldwide. In Germany, LyondellBasell operates seven locations in Wesseling / Knapsack, Frankfurt, Bayreuth, Kerpen, Münchsmünster, Seevetal and Ludwigshafen that manufacture raw materials and plastic products.
“With the first production of plastics from sustainable, renewable hydrocarbons from waste and residues on a large industrial scale, our location reached a milestone last year,” says Tassilo Bader, Plant Manager Wesseling / Knapsack, the largest LyondellBasell location in Germany. “We will continue to make our contribution to the company’s success in the future by investing in new products, more energy-efficient manufacturing processes and high safety standards.”
According to Korn Ferry, the company responsible for the annual ranking, qualified companies’ boards and directors as well as financial analysts are asked about the companies that are most valued overall and in their industries. The assessment is then based on the following criteria: the ability to attract and retain qualified employees, the quality of management, social responsibility, innovation, quality of products and services, use of fixed assets, financial soundness, long-term investment value and competitiveness.
In 2019 LyondellBasell: took on
a leadership role in founding and launching the global, cross-industry Alliance for the Prevention of Plastic Waste (AEPW).
developed a product made from recycled plastic waste for a new suitcase collection for Samsonite at its joint venture QCP.
advanced our efforts to molecularly recycle plastic waste and announced the construction of a pilot plant in Ferrara, Italy.
at its location in Wesseling for the first time plastic produced on a large industrial scale from renewable, bio-based raw materials in cooperation with Nest.
announced two letters of intent to form joint ventures in China to manufacture chemicals for use in building materials, packaging and furniture.
