LyondellBasell is committed to supporting initiatives to help enhance the environment, improving the landscapes around local parks and communities.
In the city of Morris, Illinois, and the city of Clinton, Iowa, LyondellBasell donated funds for the community to purchase refillable water stations, conveniently located for local residents to use while visiting their respective downtowns.
In Morris, the water station is placed in Goold Park, where citizens can enjoy a picnic, wander around the grounds or lie on the grass for a relaxing moment. The city is starting to host a variety of festivals and events at the park. Thus, a spot providing clean drinking water benefits the health, happiness and sustainability of the neighborhood. The water station is designed as quick fill and vandal resistant and made of stainless steel. This is the second refillable water station purchased with LyondellBasell funds.
In the recent dedication ceremony at Goold Park, representatives from the local municipality expressed their gratitude and welcomed everyone to refill their water bottles. This donation showcased LyondellBasell sustainability goals of reducing plastic waste and supporting a thriving society.
Last year, the city of Clinton purchased a refillable station with LyondellBasell outreach funds at the Riverview Recreation Vehicle Park, which is located near the Mississippi River. This project helped contribute to the further installation of refillable water stations in other local parks around the Clinton area.
